What this site collects, why, and how to say no. Last updated .
In short
- Nothing that tracks you runs until you say yes.
- Two tools, Google Analytics and RB2B, and you can say yes to one and no to the other.
- Ask us, and we delete what we hold about you.
01What we collect
Very little, and nothing without asking.
The pages work without any cookies. Two optional tools, Google Analytics and RB2B, only run if you say yes to them. Both are described below.
Hosting. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any host, Vercel processes the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, to deliver the page and keep the service secure, under its own privacy policy. We do not use this to identify you.
Fonts. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them and Google sees your IP address when it does.
Booking a call. Calls are booked through Cal.com. When you book, Cal.com collects your name, your email address and anything else you type into the booking, under its own privacy policy, and passes the booking to us. We use it to prepare for and hold the call.
Messages. If you message us on LinkedIn or by email, we receive whatever you choose to send and use it to reply. We do not sell it, we do not share it, and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.
02Cookies and tracking
What you can turn on, and how to say no.
This site uses two tools that place cookies or read information from your browser. Neither is needed to make the pages work. You choose whether they run.
We ask before either one starts. Until you answer, neither has been loaded and neither has asked your browser for anything. If you say no, neither runs, and the site works exactly the same. If you ignore the question, that counts as no. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie choices in the footer of every page.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. It tells us how many people came, which pages they looked at, roughly where in the world they were, and what brought them here. It sets cookies in your browser to do that.
We do not use it to work out who you are, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
Google processes this data for us, and some of it may be handled outside the UK. You can read Google's own description at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
If you do not turn it on, Google Analytics does not run on your visit. Nothing is requested from Google's servers for it and it sets nothing. If you turn it off having turned it on, the cookies it set are cleared.
Visitor identification (RB2B)
We use a tool called RB2B. Most people read a few pages and leave without telling us who they are. RB2B tries to work out who is visiting, so we know who to follow up with.
What it does depends on where you are.
If you are in the United States, RB2B may work out who you are as a person: your name, job title and employer.
If you are in the UK, the EU or anywhere else outside the United States, it does not do that. RB2B tell us they never identify a person outside the United States. What it may do is work out which company you are visiting from, using your IP address. That gives us a company name and website, an industry, a rough size and a revenue band. It does not give us your name.
If you work somewhere very small, we understand that naming your company comes close to naming you. If that is not something you want, say no and none of this happens, or write to us and we will make sure it does not.
RB2B ask us to publish the following, so we do. These are their words, not ours, reproduced exactly as they require:
Required by RB2B, quoted exactlyWhen you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout. You also have the option to opt out of the collection of your personal data in compliance with GDPR by visiting https://www.rb2b.com/rb2b-gdpr-opt-out.
If you do not turn it on, RB2B does not run on your visit. Nothing is requested from RB2B's servers and none of its cookies are set.
How to say no, or change your mind
The question appears the first time you visit. Nothing but the page itself runs until you answer it, and ignoring it is the same as saying no.
You can change your answer at any time from Cookie choices in the footer of every page. Turning something off stops it running and clears the cookies it had set.
Your answer is kept in your browser under the name fimiliar.consent.v1, and deliberately not in a cookie, so that remembering a refusal does not itself write one. It records which of the two you turned on and when you said so. It is not sent to us.
To ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, use the contact page.
To ask RB2B directly to remove you from their database, use app.retention.com/optout. If you are outside the United States, use rb2b.com/rb2b-gdpr-opt-out.
03Your data
Ask, and we delete it.
You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Message Cat or Jono on LinkedIn and we will do it. No forms, no fuss.
If this changes. If we ever collect anything beyond what is described here, this page changes first, and the date at the top changes with it.
